About Australia

Australia is an island continent and the world's sixth largest country. Australia is a developed country and one of the wealthiest in the world, with the world's 12th-largest economy. Australia is a unique and diverse country in every way - in culture, population, climate, geography, and history. Australia has a diverse culture, and multilingual population, climate is mostly mild, with beautiful beaches and year round sporting events, Australia is a democracy and ruled by parliament.

Australia has six states—New South Wales (NSW), Queensland (QLD), South Australia (SA), Tasmania (TAS), Victoria(VIC) and Western Australia (WA)—and two mainland territories—the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and the Northern Territory (NT). Most of Australian population is based around east coast with exception of Adelaide in south and Perth in west coast region. Sydney is the biggest city boasting population of nearly 5 million closely followed by Melbourne.

Australia has been an attractive destination for migrants for centuries, after English settlement in 1770, Chinese migrants came looking for gold in Victorian region in 1850. Waves of Italian and Greek migrants arrived pre and post second world war, and in recent times, it has been mainly English, Chinese and Indians who are contributing to Australia's skilled migration programme.

Jobs are good with good working wages without doing dangerous things. Australia has universal Medicare system, which is considered one of the best in the world.
